  • Cost: $Free
  • This event has passed.

Location: One Alumni Place, 650 N. Lake Street (please enter via Alumni Park)

Explore the Wisconsin Alumni Association’s Alumni Park along with other UW–Madison East Campus Mall locations as part of the city’s Fall Gallery Night, presented by the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. During this drop-in event, take a guided tour of the park “after dark” at 6 and 7 p.m. to learn the stories behind its artful illuminated exhibits. Plus, help celebrate Alumni Park’s one-year anniversary; enjoy live music by a jazz trio of UW-Madison student musicians, refreshments and a cash bar in One Alumni Place — the park visitor center — and  talk with, see work by, and get a “flash portrait” sketched by talented alumni artists including:

  • Renowned illustrator Jeff Butler x’18, whose credits include the comics The Green Hornet, Jurassic Park, Hercules and Xena, and Charles Barkley vs. Godzilla and game products DragonLance, Dungeons & Dragons, X-Men Legends I & II, and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.
  •  Artist Philip Salamone ’03, who, along with Sarah Gerg, created Visible Bucky (displayed outside Science Hall) for Madison’s recent Bucky on Parade,  and teaches painting and drawing at UW-Madison Continuing Studies and the Atwood Atelier.
  • Figurative painter Zack Zdrale ’00, who shows nationally and internationally including in this year’s BP Portrait International Award, teaches in the graduate department at San Francisco’s Academy of Art University, and taught for the UW–Madison Art Department, UW-Madison Continuing Studies, and Wisconsin Union Mini Courses.

Attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
