​On a warm, summer night, the Memorial Union Terrace may easily be the busiest place in town, overflowing with Madisonians relaxing after the workday, families of past and future Badgers visiting campus, and students reveling in the freedom of the summer break. As the sun sets, those looking for a picture-perfect end to the day head out along the Goodspeed Family Pier to see the spectacle. Badgers of all backgrounds come together to watch until the last rays disappear behind Picnic Point, happy to have spent another day in good company. For generations to come, the pier will be a place to bask in UW tradition — a place to call home.
